I purchased a blueridge guitar that I had shipped to the store. It arrived in a week. The manager price matched a guitar I found at another store and the sales associate was very well informed and made my purchase smooth. When I picked up my great guitar, another salesman took it out of the shipping boxes, and tuned it. He then suggested a great case for this great guitar. An excellent experience over all aspects of my purchase.
This store has gone downhill drastically. I walked in 2-3 Year’s ago with cash in hand and had the best experience ever buying my upgraded drum kit and some hardware. Now, that’s a different story.....there is nobody even over in the drum department. I went to pick up hardware, the only thing they had in stock was the snare stand. The cymbal stands, which are on display, are out. This is fine and to be expected and not why I gave it a negative review. It’s because no one is present in the back drum room and the place looks like a disheveled mess. There is gear just thrown everywhere and nothing in stock or stocked. I feel like I was in a second rate pawn shop, not the top notch guitar center they claim and project to be.
If you are looking for your very first instrument, do some research beforehand or better yet bring a more experienced musician friend with you to help you decide.
Worst service I've ever experienced. If you know what you're doing and what you're looking for you might find some decent deals. But if you need help with anything you're in trouble. The staff that actually is there are incredibly rude, snobby and ironically not very knowledgable. 'musicians', typical.
Great staff! Returned an amp that I bought there after trying it out for 2 weeks. No hassles returning it at all. Bought an upgrade to that amp at the same time and asked if I could still get the discount (that I got for the original purchase which had by now expired) for the upgrade- again, no questions asked and I got the discount. I even got thanked by the store manager for being patient. Talk about service! This is a bad combination for me- the store is right down the road from where I work and with service like this, it is going to be way too tempting to keep visiting and buying from them.
This guitar center is one of the better ones judging by the stereotypes the company has across the country. Clean, plenty of space to noodle around with the keyboards or guitars. Always a great store to just stop in and browse, or chat with the employees. Everyone who works there seems to care about their music and the instruments they curate.
